The news is out: We just published the 2021-22 Best Nursing Homes ratings, which place BRIARCLIFFE MANOR among the elite 13% that earned “High Performing” status. Your home earned a High-Performing rating for the following type(s) of care:
A High-Performing rating means that a home is eligible to display a U.S. News Best Nursing Homes award “badge” (logo) on websites, social media, advertisements, mailings, signage, and other promotional media. U.S. News badges are widely recognized symbols of excellence in U.S. healthcare that are awarded by an unbiased trust agent.
The badges, and permission to use them, must be obtained from BrandConnex, a U.S. News affiliate. BrandConnex has created a convenient online store where leaders of eligible homes can purchase a license to display a badge as well as customized plaques and banners featuring the badge. Purchase of a badge license or other promotional materials will not affect current or future ratings.
Best Nursing Homes ratings are based on U.S. News’s in-depth analysis of publicly available data, including information that is not factored into CMS’s star ratings. Unlike the star ratings, the U.S. News ratings recognize that patients undergoing relatively short-term rehabilitation have very different needs from those who require longer-term care.
This year’s ratings include some new requirements for a home to earn a High-Performing rating – most notably that federal CMS data published by October 14 must list the home as having a COVID-19 staff-vaccination rate of at least 75%.
As a result, of more than 15,000 U.S. skilled-nursing facilities evaluated by U.S. News, barely 2,000 earned even a single High-Performing rating. Some additional homes may subsequently be upgraded to High Performing if they end up meeting the staff-vaccination threshold.
